• Keep the kitchen ventilated while cooking so steam and salt do not linger.

Ceramic hobs and sand

Ceramic glass hobs are easy to clean but can be scratched or cracked. In beach homes, sand on the bottom of pots or on the hob surface acts like sandpaper. Wipe the hob before cooking. A cracked glass top should not be used at all, as liquids can reach live parts underneath. Switch off at the isolator and have it replaced.

Stoves are wired to a dedicated high-current circuit. Never try to repair a stove while it is connected to power. If we find problems with the isolator, cable or circuit, we will advise you to have a registered electrician deal with the household wiring.
