A different kind of installation

Kenton-on-Sea is one of the most beautiful spots on the Sunshine Coast, sitting between the Bushmans and Kariega river mouths. It is also further from Gqeberha than any other area we cover. Many homes here are holiday homes, and many owners live in Gqeberha, Makhanda, Gauteng or overseas.

That changes how an aircon installation works. Instead of popping in for a quick quote, we plan the job carefully in advance so that we arrive with the right unit, the right brackets, enough piping and a clear plan. That way the installation is completed in one visit, and you are not paying for return trips.

How we plan a Kenton job remotely

1. Photos and measurements. You (or your caretaker) send us photos of the room, the wall where the indoor unit will go, the outside of that wall and the area where the outdoor unit could sit, plus the room's rough dimensions. 2. Recommendation and quote. We recommend a unit size and type and give you a fixed written quote, including all materials. 3. Approval. If you are in an estate or complex, we send the proposed positions for approval before booking. 4. Booking. We book a date that suits you and, where possible, combine it with other jobs in Kenton, Bushmans River Mouth or nearby towns. 5. Installation and photos. Holiday homes and idle units

A holiday home aircon has a tougher life than you might expect. It can sit unused for months in salty, humid air, then be run hard for a few weeks over December and Easter. Units that are not built or installed for this tend to fail at the worst possible moment: the first hot day of the holidays.

River and sea frontage homes

Homes overlooking the Bushmans or Kariega river mouths and the beaches are often designed around big glass doors and open-plan living areas. Glass and open space need more cooling capacity, and very exposed frontages need careful outdoor unit placement. We often recommend two units in large open-plan areas rather than one oversized unit, for more even cooling and some redundancy.

Boknes and Cannon Rocks

We also install in Boknes and Cannon Rocks, east of Kenton. These are small, exposed coastal settlements where salt and wind are significant, and where a holiday home might stand empty for long periods. The same advice applies: coated coils, stainless fixings, sheltered positions and a pre-season service. These jobs are always booked by arrangement and grouped where possible.

Power supply and backup

Some Kenton homes run on solar systems or have backup inverters for power cuts. Inverter aircons are a good match because they start gently and draw less power once the room is cool.
